I didn't get a chance to test this on a newer Ubuntu version. Unfortunately I

ime (when trackpoint froze yesterday) i got the similar errors
in dmesg and syslog like:

But today, the trackpoint froze for 3-4 times and such errors are not seen in
i like to keep the launcher out of my way when i am working. that said,
dodge windows was the perfect option for me. the launcher popped up only
when i wanted it.
now that dodge windows option is down, all i am left with is the
autohide launcher option. the problem with that is the launcher is not

Just sharing my experience with this issue.
I've got Lenovo Thinkpad L440 recently which has this realtek network device.
Installed 12.04 LTS and all I could see was "no network device available". So
no wired & wireless connection could be made. Then I read various solutions
over web and t
After some days of using Utopic on my L440, I'm able to use wifi even for
longer duration (~3 hours). The connection was okay-ish mostly (ping showed
~25% packet loss). Later, it failed to do a 'git push', that's when I switched
to wired connection. :)
But I reckon that it has come a long way..
Yesterday I too upgraded to Utopic (so now at 3.16.0-24) from Ubuntu Gnome
14.04. And for the first time, my L440 could scan and connect to wifi networks.
Though connection was successful in the first try, but there was no data
transfer, I could not ping any IP address. 'ifconfig' did show the c
e.
3. Minimize the firefox after doing the step 2.
4. Try to maximize the firefox.
5. System will log out.
If any more information required please ping me back. This bug is very
much disappointing me using Ubuntu.

After digging and digging I found the answer. It is due to "take
ownership of filesystem" option in palimset(Disk utility). If you set
that option while formatting any of the partition(ext4/ext3) you cannot
write/read it under different user. I found the answer, so I'm closing
this bug as solved.

I think the issue is caused by pcieport_drv by which the MSI is enabled
on 0021:02:01.0. Behind the PLX downstream port, there is surprise
hotpluggable slot. When pnv-php.ko is loaded, it tries to enable MSI and
the backtrace is thrown this time. Two things can be done to avoid this
awkward situati
