@Kenny, I think, your patch is not complete. But I also can't test
because my symbian (Nokia E90) also doesn't have the browsing issue.
Attached the patch from upstream which (I think) is complete.

Using Hardy's sudo, gksu and thinkfinger packages, it's working out-of-
the-box. I think, this bug report can be closed.

Hi, attached the backtrace. This happens if the BT headset is off and I
run pactl load-module module-alsa-sink device=headset and then pactl
load-module module-alsa-source device=headset.

I found another workaround. I applied the patch from bug 137598
(http://launchpadlibrarian.net/9690288/gpm-backlight.c.diff) and
disabled auto-dimming on AC/battery while idle in g-p-m preferences.
Now, you can have an OSD, but not auto-dimming.
