I enabled the drivers before from the Hardware Drivers program. When I

With the free driver these problems do not occur at all. When I have the
driver on at random times the text on a page may not appear so you have
to scroll the page around till the text appears. That happens with any

This does not seem to have been reported on bug #263441, but for the
record, it seems to have been fixed in the next upstream version of
KompoZer, version 0.8a2 (20081229). The Ubuntu package should be
update

In the audacity Effect>Compressor window, all the settings have only one
option on the sliders-- Threshold: -1dB, Ratio: 10:1, Attack Time: 1.0
secs, Decay Time: 10.0 secs.
In (hardy?) 8.04, this would show a wider slider, with more possibility,
BTW, the 8.04 was UbuntuStudio.

after installing it gives the message "Desktop effects could not be
enabled" when trying to enable either extra or normal effect levels in

I was about to report this myself. I believe the problem should be
addressed in the near future, perhaps only using a workaround for the
time at hand, as I am using a machine where there are normally two users
logged in, and this method of controlling networking becomes
inaccessible to one user or

I was having this problem, and found a workaround in which I turned full
hinting on in font preferences under 'Appearance.' A limited version of
the problem cropped up again when I was using the 'Dust' desktop theme,
however downloading Dust 0.4 has mostly fixed it.

I think we can close this bug as it appears to be due to a hardware
fault in the monitor that is preventing the EDID information arriving at
the VGA port.
Only this monitor has this problem on this computer. I have tested
Jaunty Alpha-4 and the problem persists if the M993c is the only monitor
pre
Bug is still present in 9.04 (Jaunty) Alpha-4. Easy demo is "man man"
and wait for 10-15min. All the bright white text remains un-blanked.
