rather than booting. It barely gets the parameters before doing so.

I was looking at my /boot/grub/menu.lst and noticed something extremely
interesting: The first line does not boot; the second line does boot.
This one locks up the box:
title Ubuntu, kernel 2.6.15-26-386 Default
root(hd0,2)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda3 ro
could have
happened. Suppose we will never know.

it works, now... but am wondering how to make it work on boot rather
than 'fail'... or should I just eliminate the symlink from /etc/rcS.d.

I do not know where I saw this but I saw it: something about 'knetwork
manager' in regard to connection to isp/network which caught my
attention. I closed knetwork manager and kmail started polling the
correct network for e-mail.
I believe that knetwork needs to be left 'unloaded' when

Confirmed. I have a US Keyboard layout and it was not working properly
after Feisty-beta installation. Some keys became totally dead, on
occasion, and it was difficult to get them working w/o C-A-B. Both
SHIFT keys caused the Scroll Lock indicator to lock ...and the Scroll
Lock button does not

out a Feisty that had been updated from Dapper ...but wouldn't boot.

Hello together
I've got a simular problem with my R51. The Volume works with the on-
screen display, brightness works with now display. Here are my outputs:

I am running the latest Gutsy 386 kernel (Linux 2.6.22-14-386 #1 Tue Dec 18
07:34:24 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux) but the noise is still present. (I was
previously using the 386 kernel)
I have also fixed sudo hdparm -B254 /dev/sda.

I can also confirm this. When I use the button to the resize the
formulahelper to mark the wanted cells, it hangs. But if I just add in
the cellnumber into the add-in field, it works fine. It doesn't matter
what theme I use. I had the same problem as in bug#131526, but that is
sort of fixed now,

_I just do ALT+F2, then typed gaim. Then the crash
Made a strace gaim.
I have seen that gaim was crashing just after opening the file .gaim/pref.xml
So I removed that file and it solved the problem.

Hello there!
I do have the same problem here. But as earlier mentioned, I can umount with
sudo eject DATA or when I move my */10-storage-policy.fdi. But with the
second method, I have to umount even partition
can send one of them.
Choosing the gs-gpl alternative solves the problem., but it is not the
default gs in Kubuntu.
I don't know whether it is the right place to report this bug. Please
let me know.

same problem with an integrated Intel 3945 card, and it seems related to
