I think the problem is V4L1.
This webcam works fine with V4L1 and V4l2 on hardy (and gutsty, and feisty).
Chesse uses only v4l2, but amsn and skype use v4l, so they don't work.
I tried export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so
but it doesn't work

I confirm this. System hangs during a boot sequence on Configuring
network interfaces. It has started to happen after the 8.04 - 8.10
upgrade.
It works fine after commenting eth0 interface in the
/etc/network/interfaces. Network manager applet didn't show wire
connection before the interface

I confirm the bug. I update brasero to 0.9.1 from getdeb, but it doesn't
solve the problem.
BUT with a .vob file the button is not grayed.
So, I thik the problem is about brasero-gstreamer interaction.
I installed all gstreamer plugin, and alla library related to ffmpeg and
dvd (like libdvd)...

I confirm the bug on i915.
The same bug afflicts SMILE (the slideshow software for GNU/Linux). I
render the slideshow but it appears broken like compiz screenshot.

Problem is fixed on Dell D820 with 2.6.20-8-generic kernel now. I have
WiFi enabled in the BIOS and Radio Frequency Kill Switch is On.

Disabling a wireless devices in the BIOS solved the problem. System
boots on a graphic sign-on.
After re-enabling wifi in BIOS system still works. The error doesn't
appear anymore.

The error returned after yesterdays update. The system always freezes
after checking a filesystem. I must disable a wireless card in order to
