I've just upgraded to 2.28.2 in a relatively fresh install of Karmic--
still the same problem. Brasero performs perfectly on video dvds but
won't recognize a recordable dvd for the purpose of burning a copied
data dvd (in this case Ubuntu 9.10 Live CD).

I've just upgraded Brasero to 2.28.2-Oubuntu in Synaptic in a fairly
fresh install of Karmic. It works perfectly to backup a video DVD but
when I try to backup a data CD (in this case Ubuntu 9.10 Live CD) I

1. Enable universe and multiverse repositories;
2. sudo apt-get install numlockx;
3. In System > Administration > Startup Applications, add numlockx;

Brasero is still recognizing blank DVD for me in Maverick (as it did in
Lucid). As always, I'm willing to post any pertinent output but will
