This BUG is a SECURITY ISSUE!!!
Binding Samba to all interfaces/IPs is a NO-GO if the host has a public
IP (in our case a PDC for multiple sites via VPN).
Ubuntu becomes a laughing-stock by classifying this as low priority.
If Ubuntu doesn't act, we'll file a CVE at Mitre!

Currently I'm running the monitor directly attached via HP-HDMI-cable.
HDMI-DVI-cables make things worse (also tried cables with gold-plated

difference between direct HDMI-HDMI connection and KVM-Switch. The dmesg

Binary package hint: alsa-base
As most soundcards do not have a hardware mixer anymore, software mixing
is necessary. As Pulseaudio is a choppy pain in the ass, it is no
choice. But ALSA provides great capabilities for smooth software mixing,
if it is configured correctly.

Kubuntu 9.04 does not have a PPD for the DELL 3110cn.
Linuxprinting.org proposes the 3100cn PPD for the 3110cn but it causes
wrong measurements (e.g. 28 mm margin instead of 20 mm, object width of
155 mm instead of 170 mm) and does not provide all options of the
