I am on a Dell mini 10 and am also affected by this bug in Karmic. In Jaunty, I could toggle internal/front mic using alsamixer and both worked properly, but in Karmic, the internal mic (the one located on the screen) doesn't work at all. The external mic, (the one you plug into the jack) works
