Good!! This was making me go crazy for quite a bit. I assume that it
should be moved to the ubuntustudio-look package. I'm kind of new at
this so I am not sure exactly how that works.

gdm shows empty face browser

You received this bug notification
I have two PCs and one without any ubuntustudio packages. I don't have
the /etc/gdm/gdm-cdd.conf file anywhere. I only got it once I installed
ubuntustudio-look (which installed ubuntustudio-gdm-theme). So with a
default installation of ubuntu, that file doesn't exist. Also, I think
that file
I am taking a shot in the dark here, but if you have installed any
ubuntustudio packages (specifically ubuntustudio-gdm-theme or
ubuntustudio-look) then the culprit is a file called /usr/share
/ubuntustudio-look/gdm-cdd.conf which has a section that looks like
this:
# Enable the Face browser.
Public bug reported:
Just installed Feisty Herd 3, and it seems that the sony_acpi module was
not compiled with the kernel. Therefore brightness and the FN + keys
(that control the volume and brightness) aren't working. If the laptop
is unplugged...the brightness stays the same.
** Affects:
Well, it never worked out of the box on my laptop...but I compiled a
program called fsfn to make it work. The difference is that edgy and
dapper both had the sony_acpi module included already. I don't know if
this is the only problem though, but it is missing.

sony vaio FN keys and
I get the following after running sudo modinfo sony_acpi:
filename: /lib/modules/2.6.20-6-386/kernel/ubuntu/acpi/sony_acpi.ko
license:GPL
description:ACPI Sony Notebook Control Driver v0.2
author: Stelian Pop
srcversion: 55561AC27E8D9B18CE86274
depends:
Yea I should have added before that I did the `sudo modprobe sony_acpi`
command and tested fsfn. This is actually how I came to the conclusion
that something is missing in the kernel for Sony Vaio ACPI.

The module is there now but my VAIO (FS920) FN keys are still
unsupported. How do I go about helping to get it supported?
