I run in to distorted text in LibreOffice, depending on zoom level. At
first I thought it was a LO-bug, but now I have found that I don't get
this issues when I run the AMD proprietary driver (fglrx). So I think it

I've tried starting tint2 from a terminal about 10 times in a row and
all were successfull. So it seems that it does not fail when started
from a terminal.

are not connected to a specific document. It can happen to any LO-
document, but it does not always happen. So I can not do an apple-apple

I've personally seen this on two totally different PCs; the only thing
they have in common is the proprietary nvidia driver (ubuntu version,

The php5-gd extension depends on x11 because the dependency for libgd2
is that of libgd2-xpm, instead of libgd2-noxpm. I see no real use for
xpm images in the php version of gd, so I propose that this be changed
to libgd2-noxpm.

FWIW this is the crash from the nvidia security bug. Driver version 8776
is supposed to resolve it. I haven't yet tested to see whether that's

On a ubuntu system (hardy), without any audio or video codecs installed, totem
installs the video and audio codecs separately. The audiofile I wanted to play
was an mms: wmv stream. It first asked me to install a video codec
for me it is even worse. even without running VirtualBox, i cannot get
myself connected to my wireless network!
Steps to reproduce:
-install ubuntu hardy (both alpha 4 and 6 suffer)
-install virtualbox (using add/remove software)
-a reboot is needed (because virtualbox installed a new kernel!?)
Attached is a fix to this bug.
The problem is that after a resume HAL re-inserts all button objects.
These button objects are not necessarily re-inserted in the same order

I'm having the same issue: not able to browse or mount a windows share.
My windows share is actually a ubuntu 7.10 setup as a windows share (for other
purposes).
my gutsy laptop is able to access this share!
my hardy laptop says : Failed to mount Windows share

Well, ok, I can see where you're coming from. It's not that I can't live
with the dependency, as you say it's not all of X that needs to be
installed, but it's a lot of libraries with added security concerns etc.
