Thanks for the suggestion. It worked. My Windows shares become available
immediately after my wireless connections start.
I had one extra line in my /etc/network/interfaces:

After commenting it a rebooting to test my shares became active again

Thanks, Tomasz...but no luck. I tried that the other night, and while it
added my NAS directories to Places during that session, the next time I
logged on, they were gone again. Is there something I'm missing? Like an
option to Automatically Reconnect at Logon? Any thoughts would be
NAS: Infrant (from before it became NetGear) ReadyNAS NV+
Connection: I use Connect to Server and I use Windows Share since that
seems most effective.

It seems to be a problem with my specific user, not with the flash
installation. I say this since when I create a fresh user it can use

characters in the file, so I'm thinking it's Transmission's fault
somehow.

i ran:
strace -f -eopen firefox-3.0 /tmp/firefox.strace.log
and ff loaded the previous tabs focused on the troubletab. noscript enabled.
without noscript everything is normal.
maybe a log without noscript would be helpful?

I did click verify and it says it is accessible. The other test (with
AppArmor) I will try the next time I am near the printer, and post the
results.

I tried printing again after running
sudo aa-complain cupsd
and it still does the same thing. Here is the errors in /var/log/cups/error_log

I notice that there has been no updates on this problem since
2007-10-09. I, too, am experiencing this bug. Very frustrating as I am
trying to get people to convert to Linux (k)ubuntu. I tell them that
Open Office works on their MS Office docs so they can convert. But now
this is a MAJOR stumbling
I just tried Frank Herberg's suggestion of moving the .gtk* files
temporarily to a subfolder I created. Restarted OO and it appears to be
fixed. Also, so far no problems with Firefox or Thunderbird. Looking at
the dates of the files I moved they may have been remnants of a previous
installed
Does VMware Server support USB? I know that V2.0 Beta does, and so does
the player and workstation, I've never seen it work for the server (on
any platform) though. That might just be because I haven't tried that
hard. Just my $0.02
