I can confirm a very similar behaviour in my system. After upgrading
from 12.04 to 12.10 I started to experiment some non random mouse
freezes, in my case if I lift up the mouse from table and keep it for 2
I have a similar problem with a Logitech G400 mouse: it reproducibly
doesn't work directly after the boot, reconnecting always solves the
problem. The problem started to appear after the update from (Xubuntu)
Precise to Quantal.

I have a Microsoft mouse Notebook Optical Mouse and im with the same
exact problem, and sometimes reconecting the mouse in the usb port
doesnt put the mouse on.

After
I suffer same problem with Microsoft's InteliMouse and Logitech's MX510 mouse.
Both USB mouses randomly stop working. Reconnecting fix the problem for a while.
