It may be due to asus-wmi is not loaded since in comment #5 it says no
keystroke could be captured. Asus.wmi sometimes has the problem that it
is not loaded.
@PHlin, as Acelan also confirmed that his patch is already in 13.04, can
you try a few more times in 13.04?

Since the functionality of wireless itself is good, and be able to switch
wireless on/off by the Enable Wireless option.
This bug is not considered as a blocker, tag will be removed.

This problem sometimes will make Wi-Fi became unusable.
You have to disable/enable Wireless multiple times by the Enable Wireless
option to get it back.

Same issue as bug 1022430, raring already has the fix, but not going to
fix for precise and quantal. I am surprised it doesn't work in 3.10
though, can you give 13.04 a try? I want to make sure we have fixed this
bug in 13.04.

On this system (201206-11376 Asus X55A), after installing the latest upstream
kernel (3.10),
the wireless function key becomes not working at all.
With showkey -k, no key stroke signal captured.
