The logs were to confirm that there was no evidence of a more likely bug. Now, the best course of action is to try the xserver-xorg-video- intel from ppa:xorg-edgers once it is ready. Any timeframe? The symptoms indicate unity hangs. The question is where - most likely it is wait for a swap completion.
