I confirm this inconvenient and unavoidable behaviour. I love KDE- and KDE application- developers for only adding nice-to-have features, if they can be suppressed by the user. I see this too, on a Thinkpad X60 (Kubuntu Saucy, KDE 4.11.2 It happens all the time: - when the screensaver dims due to inactivity - when I wake the machine from screen-blank. (I think I've also seen this on my desktop machine, which flashes the notification very fast, as if it *would* dim the screen, but actually, the screen brightness isn't changing). Please fix this: it may be a trivial bug, but it's really quite distracting, especially on resume.
