[Bug 1264910] Re: Tmux backend can't handle spaces in window name

2014-01-07 Thread Dustin Kirkland 
If you're going to use 'ctrl-a A' to rename your window, you'll need to
enclose it in double quotes, foo bar.

If you use Byobu's hotkey (F8) for rename-window, you don't need to
enclose it in quotes.

[Bug 1264910] Re: Tmux backend can't handle spaces in window name

2014-01-07 Thread Phil Pemberton
The problem with the F-keys is that Byobu's binding of them makes it
somewhat difficult to use Midnight Commander... hence why I prefer the
screen-style Ctrl-A-{letter} commands.

Understood. Just quote your window name with spaces.

[Bug 1264910] Re: Tmux backend can't handle spaces in window name

2013-12-29 Thread Phil Pemberton
Also confirmed on byobu 5.68-0ubuntu1~raring from the Byobu PPA
(ppa:byobu/ppa).

** Description changed:

When hitting Ctrl-a A (ctrl-a shift-a) to rename the window, if I enter
a name with spaces, Tmux briefly displays an error Usage: rename-window
[-t target-window] new-name and the window retains its current name.
Entering a window name without spaces works fine.

Similarly, the window name cannot be set to an empty string - this
results in the same error message.

This seems to be a regression of #1224352.

- byobu 5.35-0ubuntu1
+ byobu 5.35-0ubuntu1 and 5.68-0ubuntu1~raring
  Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail
