x86_64 kernel not compiled with PM_TRACE option
Ahem... did the kernel team take a peek? This seems to be a very simple
to fix but very annoying bug.
It seems also quite urgent: we need it solved to report info to suspend-
related bugs (for example, suspend not working on my Amilo 1650G), so if
it will be fixed the day before the final
Yes, the kernel team did look at this and have set the bug's status to
Fix Committed being that it will be fixed in the next upload of the
kernel for Intrepid.

The 2.6.22 kernel task does not meet the criteria for a stable release
update and is being marked as Won't Fix for it. You can learn more
about the stable release update process at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates .

Actually, I just reinstalled my system in 32 bit, and the problem is
here too. So probably the name of the bug is wrong.
Anyway, the bug is here (for linux package).

Hi Guys,
Yup looks like this config option is not enabled for Intrepid. I'll
have the kernel team take a peek. Just to add a note for the kernel
team, it looks like CONFIG_PM_TRACE is enabled by enabling
CONFIG_PM_TRACE_RTC:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/ubuntu-intrepid/kernel/power$ grep -A10
Running a brand new intrepid on my 64 bit system, the problem is still
there.
If, following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspend, I give the
command
echo 1 /sys/power/pm_trace
, I get:
bash: /sys/power/pm_trace: No such file or directory
I don't know exactly where Leann was
Just wanted to state that (obviously) I'm using kernel from package
linux-source-2.6.26-3-generic; I just am not able to update bug
informations on top.
I can do some more testing if that can be helpful.

Looks like this is fixed in the Hardy kernel:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/ubuntu-hardy/debian/config$ grep -rn PM_TRACE *
amd64/config:1979:CONFIG_PM_TRACE=y
amd64/config.server:261:CONFIG_PM_TRACE=y
i386/config:904:CONFIG_PM_TRACE=y
i386/config.386:263:CONFIG_PM_TRACE=y
