I've seen no evidence that the (Google) Hangouts extension is being
installed in any recent release of the Chromium browser.
Presumably this bug report can now be closed as the issue was resolved
Note that it is added by the compilation tag :
ENABLE_HANGOUT_SERVICES_EXTENSION=1
