I'm running Xubuntu 15.04.5 LTS and am experiencing frequent screen freezes. It's already an older bug which other people seem to still encounter (see #1220426). As it was correctly pointed out in comment #171 (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/trusty/+source/xorg- server/+bug/1220426/comments/171), the bug occurs due to an interaction between the synaptics driver and xorg. After adopting the proposed fix, the issue disappears.
