[Bug 1625159] Re: Kubuntu 16.04 won't boot after last update if uefi secure boot is enabled (windows 10 starts directly, no possibility to access grub), without secure boot everything works normal

[Bug 1625159] Re: Kubuntu 16.04 won't boot after last update if uefi secure boot is enabled (windows 10 starts directly, no possibility to access grub), without secure boot everything works normal
Your efibootmgr config shows: BootOrder: 0004,0001,0003,2001,2002,2003 and: Boot0004* KubuntuGrub PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x13,0x0)/Sata(0,0,0)/HD(2,GPT,4077d5c5-1e4f-4d76-baba- b666b1d46598,0xe1800,0x31800)/File(\EFI\ubuntu\grubx64.efi)A01 .. So what set up this entry? Ubuntu's shim and grub packages do not. And this entry is not bootable because you are bypassing shim and trying to boot grub directly. ** Changed in: shim (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1625159 Title: Kubuntu 16.04 won't boot after last update if uefi secure boot is enabled (windows 10 starts directly, no possibility to access grub), without secure boot everything works normal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shim/+bug/1625159/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find. ** Information type changed from Private Security to Public -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1625159 Title: Kubuntu 16.04 won't boot after last update if uefi secure boot is enabled (windows 10 starts directly, no possibility to access grub), without secure boot everything works normal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shim/+bug/1625159/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
