[Bug 1625159] Re: Kubuntu 16.04 won't boot after last update if uefi secure boot is enabled (windows 10 starts directly, no possibility to access grub), without secure boot everything works normal

2016-09-19 Thread Steve Langasek
Your efibootmgr config shows:

BootOrder: 0004,0001,0003,2001,2002,2003

and:

Boot0004* KubuntuGrub
PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x13,0x0)/Sata(0,0,0)/HD(2,GPT,4077d5c5-1e4f-4d76-baba-
b666b1d46598,0xe1800,0x31800)/File(\EFI\ubuntu\grubx64.efi)A01 ..

So what set up this entry? Ubuntu's shim and grub packages do not. And
this entry is not bootable because you are bypassing shim and trying to
boot grub directly.

2016-09-19 Thread Seth Arnold
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
