Public bug reported: My Canon S9000 wide-format photo printer works fine with this paper in windows or TurboPrint.
With standard Gutenprint driver bjc-s9000, image is extremely dark and grainy. See attached scan versus original in linked album: http://imgur.com/a/QG866 I've tried changing the following driver settings with no significant difference noted in IQ: - Color Model RGB vs CYMK - Paper type photo vs glossy photo paper vs "photo paper plus glossy" - Ink type CYMK vs "Photo CcMmYK Color". Other notes: - Gutenprint v5.2.11. - Unmodified PPD - `StpPPDLocation: "/usr/share/cups/model/gutenprint/5.2/C/ppd/stp-bjc-s9000.5.2.ppd"` ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: printer-driver-gutenprint 5.2.11-1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-43.63-generic 4.4.21 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-43-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_uvm nvidia_modeset nvidia ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.1 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Thu Dec 1 16:56:10 2016 InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-12-13 (354 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 15.10 "Wily Werewolf" - Release amd64 (20151021) SourcePackage: gutenprint UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: gutenprint (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug third-party-packages xenial -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1646654 Title: bjc-s9000 generates photos that are unusably dark and grainy To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gutenprint/+bug/1646654/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
