Public bug reported: I'm trying out Ubuntu 17.10 (Artful). I installed Synaptic, but when I try to launch it from Activities nothing happens. If I try to launch it from a terminal, I see this:
adam@frontier:~$ sudo synaptic [sudo] password for adam: No protocol specified Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused (synaptic:6737): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0 adam@frontier:~$ ** Affects: synaptic (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1704748 Title: Synaptic fails to launch on Ubuntu 17.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/synaptic/+bug/1704748/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
