No warning or any other clue was provided on screen as to what was the problem. The rednotebook.log file shows: 2017-08-08 21:13:49,275 INFO Writing log to file "/home/rainer/.rednotebook/rednotebook.log" 2017-08-08 21:13:49,275 INFO System encoding: utf-8 2017-08-08 21:13:49,276 INFO Language code: es_NI 2017-08-08 21:13:49,448 ERROR PyYAML not found. Please install it (python3-yaml). I am not aware of having uninstalled python3-yaml (how can I check?), but if I did, it can only have happened via 'apt autoremove' - but being a requisite for rednotebook it shouldn't have been included for autoremove. If it wasn't installed beforehand, rednotebook should pass the package name to apt for additional install. ** Affects: rednotebook (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1709659 Title: rednotebook wouldn't open - PyYAML not found To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rednotebook/+bug/1709659/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
