I too had EasyScreenCast installed and removal of its folder allowed me
to boot again

I had the same issue. For me the issue was caused by a recent install of
EasyScreenCast gnome extension. I deleted the extension from
/home/$USER/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/ and was then able to
log in.

somehow seemed to help! I now have wayland and TLP working:

Same happened to me few days ago and I could no longer log into Wayland
(only X11). This happened after installing TLP on a Thinkpad X201:

Same thing has happened to me. It was preceded by my session crashing
