The owner is root and vboxsf has read and write access and that is the
standard assignment for Vbox shared folders and true for all my VMs. The
office files are in the Bert folder.

2018-02-22 Thread BertN45
** Description changed:

  Error message: Access to /media/sf_hp-data/Bert/Documents/To Do.odt was
  denied.

  It happens only in Vbox Shared Folders and only using Ubuntu 17.10,
  18.04 and Ubuntu Mate 17.10, which might be related to the LibreOffice
  release 5.4.4.2 and 5.4.5.1 used. Other files like music, plain text
  documents and photos can be accessed normally.

  I do not have the same problem in e.g the Virtual Machines Peppermint 8
  or Linux Mint 18.3 with LibreOffice release 5.1.6.2. Nor in the VM
- Xubuntu 17.10 with LibreOffice release 6.0.1.1.

2018-02-22 Thread Olivier Tilloy
That looks similar to bug #1751005. Who is the owner of /media/sf_hp-data ?
Can you share the output of:

ls -la /media/sf_hp-data

** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu)
   Status: New => Incomplete
