Volker, Thanks a lot for your help. Following this issue, I installed Ubuntu 18.04 with kernel 4.15 and it started correctly. I will try again Lubuntu later with a kernel >= 4.15.5. Update of lubuntu-18.04 (and ubuntu-mate-18.04)from kernel 4.13.0-36 to kernel 4.15.0-10: boot fails: Boot stops shortly after the boot screen appears, then screen becomes black. Afterwards, the system tries several times to come up with the boot screen again, but never succeeds; then stops completely. No such problems with mainline builds 4.15.4 and 4.15.5.
