[Bug 1754052] Re: Dell Latitude 7480 press shift keys triggers random mouseclick when `Tap to click` enabled on touchpad.

I added a quirk for libinput to fix this issue, until the fix is merged
you can add this quirk to your local overrides:

This bug is not fixed in newer version. I checked with other distro like
deepin and it doesn't happen. I also checked outside OS like in BIOS and
it doesn't happen too

My Dell Latitude 7480 also has this problem. Is there any fix?

2019-06-09 Thread Peter Karlsson
My computer was under warranty (brand new) so I had the
keyboard/trackpad replaced. Never had any problems since. (I actually
recorded a short film with my phone of me pressing buttons and the mouse
clicking just in case I would have to demonstrate to some technician,
but I never had to. It's a corporate PC).

[Bug 1754052] Re: Dell Latitude 7480 press shift keys triggers random mouseclick when `Tap to click` enabled on touchpad.

2019-06-06 Thread Damian Mironiuk
I've experienced the same issue on Ubuntu 19.04 and 18.04 (but on other
Linux distributions like newest versions of debian or manjaro too - both
Gnome and KDE). Nevertheless it's working fine on Windows 10.

Is there any known solution to this problem? It seems that the touchpad
is a certified one according to
https://certification.ubuntu.com/catalog/component/input/4932/input%3ADLL079F%3A01044E%3A120B/

I can supply my configuration if needed but to give an overview:
Dell Latitude 7480
Kenel: 4.19.28
Dell BIOS: 1.14.1

[Bug 1754052] Re: Dell Latitude 7480 press shift keys triggers random mouseclick when `Tap to click` enabled on touchpad.

2018-03-12 Thread Peter Karlsson
I have tested upstream kernel v4.16-rc4 and can confirm the problem
persists. However I managed to borrow another Latitude E7440 and for the
time I had access to that laptop I could not reproduce the problem.
Therefore I have to conclude that it is a hardware problem, not a
software one.

[Bug 1754052] Re: Dell Latitude 7480 press shift keys triggers random mouseclick when `Tap to click` enabled on touchpad.

2018-03-08 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.16 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.
