If the new installer can't replace all functionality of the existing
installer, it's not mature enough for production use (this is for
servers, after all). I strongly recommend that the team revert back to
the Debian installer for 18.04.

I have noticed it too. Installer doesn't read partition table. Moreover,
it has very limited functionality: it doesn't allow to establish any
raid ;-(
