I had the same problem on Xubuntu-18.04 with midnight commander: Alt +
Shift + / worked as alt + / and changed keyboard layout. On
Xubuntu-16.04 everything worked fine out of the box. On 18.04 I changed

@Daniel, yes, this is a duplicate of this, although I never noticed the
input language changed as well! Can be closed as a duplicate.
