[Bug 1823583] Re: Xorg freeze ( also Nvidia freeze (tested) )

2019-05-20 Thread Daniel van Vugt
I can't see anything else in that log which might explain the freeze.

First, if you have any nonstandard gnome-shell extensions installed then
please uninstall them.

Next, please follow the steps in comment #4 in case the freeze is a
crash, of something.

[Bug 1823583] Re: Xorg freeze ( also Nvidia freeze (tested) )

2019-05-20 Thread Hasan
I added the prevboot.txt file at attachment. I realized in logs that
there are some lines about cpu's execution like that:

May 20 13:17:14 TUBITAK-HASANFSIMSEK3 kernel: CPU1: Core temperature above
threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 43)
May 20 13:17:14 TUBITAK-HASANFSIMSEK3 kernel: CPU5: Core temperature above
threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 43)
May 20 13:17:14 TUBITAK-HASANFSIMSEK3 kernel: CPU7: Package temperature above
threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 526)
May 20 13:17:14 TUBITAK-HASANFSIMSEK3 kernel: CPU2: Package temperature above
threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 526)
May 20 13:17:14 TUBITAK-HASANFSIMSEK3 kernel: CPU0: Package temperature above
threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 526)
May 20 13:17:14 TUBITAK-HASANFSIMSEK3 kernel: CPU3: Package temperature above
threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 526)
May 20 13:17:14 TUBITAK-HASANFSIMSEK3 kernel: CPU4: Package temperature above
threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 526)
May 20 13:17:14 TUBITAK-HASANFSIMSEK3 kernel: CPU6: Package temperature above
threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 526)
May 20 13:17:14 TUBITAK-HASANFSIMSEK3 kernel: CPU5: Package temperature above
threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 526)
May 20 13:17:14 TUBITAK-HASANFSIMSEK3 kernel: CPU1: Package temperature above
threshold, cpu clock throttled (total events = 526)

So when this freezes carry out, my laptop's fan noice increases
dramatically and is going to explode. When I press the shutdown physical
button and reboot the system, everything is being fine. But until the
next freeze... Maybe 4 days later, or 1 week later or 3 week later...
Could you examine the prevboot logs please?

Also, in case the freeze was caused by something crashing please follow
these steps too:

[Bug 1823583] Re: Xorg freeze ( also Nvidia freeze (tested) )

2019-04-07 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Next time a freeze happens, restart the system and then run this command
to collect the log from the previous (frozen) boot:

  journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt

and then send us the file 'prevboot.txt'.
