On Ubuntu 20.04, WiFi won't authenticate after the upgrade, and I had to "forget" it, then reenter the password. >From backport-iwlwifi-dkms 7906-0ubuntu4 and on, a OBSOLETE_BY="5.0.0" parameter is added in bug 1859389. So you do have backport-iwlwifi-dkms automatically installed due to modaliases match, but it's not in action. This is expected, and that's why removing it won't help. If you want to try this dkms, please do: 1. remove that OBSOLETE_BY parameter from /usr/src/backport-iwlwifi*/dkms.conf 2.
