[Bug 196890] Re: rtl8185 wifi driver causes kernel panic
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description does not yet have enough information. Please include the following additional information, if you have not already done so (pay attention to lspci's additional options), as required by the Ubuntu Kernel Team: 1. Please include the output of the command uname -a in your next response. It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version you're running, as well as the CPU architecture. 2. Please run the command dmesg dmesg.log after a fresh boot and attach the resulting file dmesg.log to this bug report. 3. Please run the command sudo lspci -vvnn lspci-vvnn.log and attach the resulting file lspci-vvnn.log to this bug report. 4. Please attach the file /var/log/kern.log after a crash. For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel- related bug reports is available at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies Thanks in advance! ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: None = linux -- rtl8185 wifi driver causes kernel panic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196890 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 196890] Re: rtl8185 wifi driver causes kernel panic
How did you originally get the rtl8185 wifi driver? For example were you prompted to install a restricted driver which was automatically installed? If possible, please provide a link the working 'official' driver's website. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New = Incomplete -- rtl8185 wifi driver causes kernel panic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196890 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 196890] Re: rtl8185 wifi driver causes kernel panic
rtl-wifi implementation was included into 2.6.22-generic kernel by default. official one can be downloaded from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1PNid=1PFid=1Level=6Conn=5DownTypeID=3GetDown=falseDownloads=true#RTL8185L the driver is distributed under GPL, so i hope it can be easily added to default ubuntu kernel. -- rtl8185 wifi driver causes kernel panic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196890 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
