I too would love to see a touchpad program working in hardy.
ksynaptics was great, even if its discontinued, it worked well and touchfreeze
looks like its not easy to get working...

I pulled this comment from the kubuntu users list:
Ksynaptics has stopped development:
http://qsynaptics.sourceforge.net/
Waiting for the replacement - TouchFreeze - to be added to the
repos..
A look at the website suggests that TouchFreeze has a little way to go.

This is just the way that Hardy seems to be handling the xorg.conf file.
It seems to remove many sections I guess autoconfig'ing everything.
Of course you can revert back to the older way of doing things Look
at the attached config file to get an idea of how to go about this.

I have upgraded from Kubuntu Gutsy to Hardy.
Previously in Gutsy my Ksynaptics works just fine. but when updgraded to
Hardy, it doesn't seem to have any effect. It doesn't do anything when I
changed the configuration in Ksynaptics.
Is this due to bug reported here? or should I report a new bug?
Shouldn't it be a little higher than wishlist? I can confirm the gutsy
version does work in hardy, but it's not a big issue to compile the
newer vesion (that hardys gsynaptics uses) and add it in the repos for
us Kubuntu users.
