I see the 'partial' packages are being fixed in LP: #2143732 and appearing on the NBS report, and being cleaned up there. I'll leave this bug for the removal of php8.4 only. Out of interest, the following appears in the Debian FTP Masters' REJECT-FAQ: Your package builds binary packages not listed in debian/control. While this is technically possible, it is not allowed: all binaries need to be listed in your control file prior to the build (ie. that information needs to be included in the uploaded source) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2143547 Title: Please remove php8.4 from resolute To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php8.4/+bug/2143547/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

~ginggs: nice, that is correct. > 22 packages in the 'partial' state because there are some binaries that depend on php8.4-common and php8.5-common. Just to clear out the wording: there are binaries that depend on php8.4-common and *different* binaries which depend on php8.5 common, built by different versions of the same sources, given the older versions were not removed from the archive when the new ones migrated. And, this is precisely the list of binaries we want to remove. My question now would be: do we *need* these in the NBS list to get them out of the archive? Is it possible to get rid of these binaries (and the version of the sources which builds them) on resolute together with the php8.4 removal? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2143547 Title: Please remove php8.4 from resolute To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php8.4/+bug/2143547/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

~seb128 so, I thought that would be the case: at some point in time I realized that pkg-php-tools was doing some magic, yes. See that https://transitions.ubuntu.com/html/php8.5.html#good,bad,partial,unknown shows some of those in green (new source depends on php8.5, old source removed from the archive) and this list here is yellow (both sources present). ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-apcu php-apcu: Installed: (none) Candidate: 5.1.24-1build1 Version table: 5.1.24-1build1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages 5.1.24-1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-decimal php-decimal: Installed: (none) Candidate: 1.5.0-4build1 Version table: 1.5.0-4build1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages 1.5.0-4 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-ds php-ds: Installed: (none) Candidate: 1.6.0-1build1 Version table: 1.6.0-1build1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages 1.6.0-1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-excimer php-excimer: Installed: (none) Candidate: 1.2.5-1build1 Version table: 1.2.5-1build1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages 1.2.5-1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-gnupg php-gnupg: Installed: (none) Candidate: 1.5.4-1build2 Version table: 1.5.4-1build2 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages 1.5.4-1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-inotify php-inotify: Installed: (none) Candidate: 3.0.0++-3build1 Version table: 3.0.0++-3build1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages 3.0.0++-3 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-maxminddb php-maxminddb: Installed: (none) Candidate: 1.12.1-1build1 Version table: 1.12.1-1build1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages 1.12.1-1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-mcrypt php-mcrypt: Installed: (none) Candidate: 3:1.0.7-5build1 Version table: 3:1.0.7-5build1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages 3:1.0.7-5 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-oauth php-oauth: Installed: (none) Candidate: 2.0.10-0ubuntu1 Version table: 2.0.10-0ubuntu1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages 2.0.9-1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-pcov php-pcov: Installed: (none) Candidate: 1.0.12-1build1 Version table: 1.0.12-1build1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages 1.0.12-1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-ps php-ps: Installed: (none) Candidate: 1.4.4++-4build1 Version table: 1.4.4++-4build1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages 1.4.4++-4 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-psr php-psr: Installed: (none) Candidate: 1.2.0-9build1 Version table: 1.2.0-9build1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages 1.2.0-9 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-raphf php-raphf: Installed: (none) Candidate: 2.0.1++-4build1 Version table: 2.0.1++-4build1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages 2.0.1++-4 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-smbclient php-smbclient: Installed: (none) Candidate: 1.1.2-3build1 Version table: 1.1.2-3build1 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages 1.1.2-3 500 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu resolute/universe amd64 Packages ubuntu@ubuntu-resolute:~$ apt policy php-ssh2 php-ssh2: Installed: (none)
[Bug 2143547] Re: Please remove php8.4 from resolute
A couple packages from that list don't build unversioned binaries, but it's still the same problem: - Both php8.4-imap and php8.4-imapphp8.5-imap are installable, built from different versions of the same source - Both php8.4-pspell and php8.4-imapphp8.5-pspell are installable, built from different versions of the same source -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2143547 Title: Please remove php8.4 from resolute To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php8.4/+bug/2143547/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
