[Bug 220952] Re: Out of Range for 800x600 full screen games

2008-05-02 Thread James Westby
Hi,

This doesn't appear to be a bug in displayconfig-gtk, it appears to be lower
down than
that.

Thanks,

James

  appear.

If Desktop resolution is set to 800x600, no monitor error is reported.
If any other desktop resolution is used, no monitor error is reported.

Open Arena, Alien Arena (though broken) appear to function.

  Hardware Software

  nvidia-glx-new
  Nvidia Fx 5200
  1440x900 native monitor resolution.

  Update:

- does not support 800x600 @63 or @64.
+ does not support 800x600 @63, @64, @65.
+
+ Broken for Nvidia and NV driver.

I added displayconfig-gtk to list. If it had the right configuration
for the monitor, the bug wouldnt exist. It's matter of x using the wrong
refresh rate for the monitor. It really is a simple fix and just needs
little attention. In the meantime, I fixed it using nvidia-settings but
thats not perfect.

2008-04-25 Thread kahrytan
I fixed this using Nvidia-Settings software.

Easy fix for Ubuntu would to build configuration for Viewsonic VA1916w in the
displayconfig-gtk

Monitor Specs:

ModelName ViewSonic VA1916wSERIES
HorizSync 24.0 - 82.0
VertRefresh 50.0 - 75.0

1440 x 900 @ 60, 75 Hz
1280 x 1024 @ 60, 75 Hz
1024 x 768 @ 60, 70, 72, 75 Hz
800 x 600 @ 56, 60, 72, 75 Hz
640 x 480 @ 60, 75 Hz
720 x 400 @ 70 Hz
