i have a similar issue. my printer is a hp deskjet 1120c which worked fine with ubuntu 10.10 and without hplip till 11/2010. and now with some update or a package installation i get only o single text line and a page feed as described in the origin bug. -- You received this bug notification

I have the same bug, i'm printing using samba via hp 5440 connected to my main pc, which is running windows xp. On my laptop, i run Linux Mint Felicia (6) that is Ubuntu 8.10. Until LM Elyssa (ubuntu 8.04) i was printing ok. Now, i have this problem. Trying to Install hplip 2.8.12, i get an error

I also have a HP 5440 Printer, Laptop is an Asus Z9200va (A6va). Same Problem here. No Problem with Ubuntu 8.04 or 7.*, but in 8.10, only pages with random characters are printed. Printer is attached via USB and is recognised correctly. -- Regression: HP Deskjet 5440 Prints Random Characters
