[Bug 378671] Re: mouse cursor disappears when stationary

2010-06-28 Thread Thorsten Reinbold
The Reason for this on Maverick is the package unclutter. I never
noticed this tool in Lucid, so I guess it's new. I didn't find a way to
disable it, so I pruged it. Maybe the default behavior should be
changed.

Reopening for Maverick. I have the exactly same behavior as described in
#6. Mousepointer disappears after exactly two seconds after moving. When
moving again it reappears.

2009-10-02 Thread Bryce Harrington

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the
original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to
reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against
the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we
may be able to pass upstream for help.

[Bug 378671] Re: mouse cursor disappears when stationary

2009-08-29 Thread Bryce Harrington
[This is an automatic notification.]

A new version of the -ati driver is now available in Karmic.

This is a significant update to -ati which brings in kernel mode-setting
(currently disabled) and scores of fixes for DRI2, EXA, etc.

I've posted the new version of this driver to the following PPA,
would you mind testing it and seeing if it resolves the bug you
reported?

https://edge.launchpad.net/~bryceharrington/+archive/ppa/+sourcepub/709908
/+listing-archive-extra

If you're not running this release of Ubuntu, you can try booting the Karmic
LiveCD and loading the PPA onto it, and then log out/in to restart X.
ISOs are available at http://cdimages.ubuntu.com/releases/

After testing Karmic, report back here whether it's still an issue or not,
and if it is please post a fresh Xorg.0.log and 'dmesg' output.

Note there could be new bugs... please file these as new reports using
the command 'ubuntu-bug xorg'.

[Bug 378671] Re: mouse cursor disappears when stationary

2009-06-06 Thread Sergey Chistovich
Same problem. Intel 945.

A few details: it happens when cursor is over a regular area like a
browser window or a gnome panel, but doesn't happen when it is over a
drop-down menu, be it gnome main menu or an application-specific one.
When over a menu item, it doesn't disappear, but the pop-up text, if
any, blinks every 2 sec or so (probably the same interval is for
disappearing); the cursor itself doesn't seem to blink.

If needed, I can send xorg.conf or whatever.

2009-06-02 Thread Bryce Harrington
Hi adpsimpson-gmail,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've
made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

[This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 378671] Re: mouse cursor disappears when stationary

2009-06-02 Thread Andrew Simpson
/etc/X11/xorg.conf attached. The only changes made since upgrading to
9.04 were attempts to get a working video driver without this issue -
hence fglrx and ati are on commented out lines.

I may have made other changes before I upgraded, but this issue was not
present before upgrade.

If you need anything else I'd be happy to help.
