I can see that this behavior of Nautilus is still valid in 2016 (GTK 3.22)
Has anybody an info about this? Is it going to be fixed (according to David's
reccomendation in which i fully agree) or will remain like it is ?

While I understand why this bug was Won’t-Fix’ed, the reasons for the
bug remain:
(1) Using the middle mouse button either for dragging or to show a menu is not
particularly discoverable. Dragging is usually done with the left mouse button,
and menus are shown either via the right mouse button o

Well, we don't aim at using the same whole set of shortcuts of Windows; I don't
think we want to map it to both combinations, and middle-click-drag works
nicely.
