Windows 7 is okay, but I can't see why you would think it would be lighter than Ubuntu by any significant margin... it's not. If you want a lighter Ubuntu use Lubuntu. It is based off of LXDE and WAY lighter than Windows 7. Plus, if you use Windows 7 you get dem viruses and Big Brother Microsoft

Here is a script to recreate this error by corrupting the package cache of apt. _DON'T RUN IT ON A PRODUCTION SYSTEM_ The only way to reproduce it is when pkgcache.bin and dpkg status are out of sync. In the script I intentionally corrupt pkgcache.bin and the status database but I don't see how
