I am reporting a reproducible bug where file systems fail to mount,
seeming *triggered* by an early X server crash. The X server crash
itself has been reported elsewhere. This report is about the effect on
mountall's mounting of file systems. I would appreciate any pointers on
how to track this

Thanks for the bug report, unfortunately it's really not clear to me
what problem you're attemping to report here. If you're having an X
server crash, then that should be filed against the X server.
