[Bug 575191] Re: simple-scan doesn't scan from HP M1522nf (MFP), while xsane works
This seems to be related to the drivers/backends. These change with Ubuntu releases independant of simple-scan, and have a tendency to be rather fragile. Can someone confirm that there is a problem with the following setup: - hp scanner (please scpecify exactly) - Ubuntu 12.04 precise (beta/stable) - simple-scan, xsane, hplip installed - running simple-scan, then xsane, then simple-scan again Thanks in advance! ** Changed in: simple-scan Status: Confirmed = Incomplete ** Changed in: simple-scan (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/575191 Title: simple-scan doesn't scan from HP M1522nf (MFP), while xsane works To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/simple-scan/+bug/575191/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 575191] Re: simple-scan doesn't scan from HP M1522nf (MFP), while xsane works
I've just made some tests on the machine in which simple-scan is not working. It looks to be irregular behavior. The test goes like this: Try to scan 1 - fail. Start a new document, discard the previous. Try to scan 2 - fail. Start a new document, discard the previous. Try to scan 3 - Success. I think there is some sort of time race between the scanner and the application. After several try-fail-new, simple-scan is able to scan. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/575191 Title: simple-scan doesn't scan from HP M1522nf (MFP), while xsane works To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/simple-scan/+bug/575191/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
