Works for me too (10.10 x86 and Kodak Z710), but this is only workaround, not fix. No ionash, I have not opened a new bug report on mtp plugin, but if you want to do so, feel free. I do see a few open bug reports already dealing with Rhythmbox's mtp and various usb devices (pen drives and cameras). It looks like my problem with my Fuji FinePix automounting was being caused by Rhythmbox's Portable Players - MTP plugin. As long as Rhythmbox was running with the MTP plugin enabled, my camera would not automount. Disabling the MTP plugin allowed the camera to automount and removed the usbfs: USBDEVFS_CONTROL failed cmd gvfs-gphoto2-vo error. I've gotten the exact same gvfs-gphoto2 error message with a Fuji FinePix Z20fd camera on two separate computers running x86 (not AMD64) Lucid.
