2012-06-25 Thread Arie Skliarouk
I disabled all acceleration in X, but that did not help, it crashed the same
way as before:
Option DRI false
Option shadow true
Option NoAccel True

[Bug 990914] Re: segmentation fault when running xkbcomp

2012-05-23 Thread Arie Skliarouk
From http://www.x.org/wiki/Development/Documentation/ServerDebugging:

Likewise, some gdb versions crash when starting the X server when
attempting to run xkbcomp. This is, amazingly enough, a bug in the
kernel's DRM code for suppressing some signals; it should be fixed in
2.6.28 if not earlier. You can disable XKB by passing the -kb option on
the server's command line; obviously if you're trying to debug XKB this
may cause you some problems and you're probably better off attaching gdb
to a running X instead. Alternatively, disable DRI, but again, if DRI is
the thing you're trying to debug, that won't help.

as well:

What else can I do to help with resolution of the bug?

Thank you for your bug report, that's a segfault in X itself, not a
lightdm bug

** Package changed: lightdm (Ubuntu) = xorg-server (Ubuntu)
