Your camera does not work with this driver. After a few minutes of
Googling I found some interesting links:

http://lwn.net/Articles/232691/
http://lsb.blogdns.net/ry5u870/
http://www.ricoh.com/LSI/product_pcif/usb/5u870/index.html

Finally I'm not sure if exactly 05ca:183a version/revision is supported.
I will close this bug report as its not related to xawtv/webcam package.

Re: [Bug 151298] vaio sony visual camera vgn-vcc7 not operable

2007-10-10 Thread Krzysztof Burghardt
2007/10/10, integralcv [EMAIL PROTECTED]:
 Binary package hint: webcam

 I have a VAIO VGN-TZ11MN-N Ubuntu works better than Windows, but don't
 operable SD reader and webcam driver Sony Visual Camera VGN-VCC7 (Ricoh
 Driver), also MIC Front don't works.

Could you please send output of those commands:
$ lsusb
$ dmesg
$ xawtv -hwscan

Also check if your video recorder is properly detected and device's
node are created under /dev/video*.

Microphone and SD reader cannot be handled by xawtv/webcam. You should
report this problems to kernel maintainers (card reader) or ALSA
maintainers (microphone).
