Here are my findings:
indeed altering the default user fron initrd is the way forward:
infact I had to replace the username and hostname in
initrd_root/etc/casper.conf
and also to uncomment the flavour line below.

I need some help in compiling Ubuntu package for a different CPU
architecture.
I am currently using Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS on an armv7l, which is actually
the BananaPI.
I need to compile krb5-user package to the architecture and I don't know how
to start with.
