I would have to agree on not hearing many Ubuntu (even other distros)
sounds. I would suggest forwarding this to the Ubuntu-ART ML or getting in
contact with someone from Artwork Team. Though I am unsure if audio artwork
is their realm.

Are you referring to a particular bug here?
https://launchpad.net/bugs/5212 is something quite different.

Everything auto-updates. And that depends on whether it gets in or
not. Firefox's built-in auto-update does not work on Ubuntu.

Vishal, you can see all packages for intrepid by searching them in
packages.ubuntu.com. Eclipse is at 3.2, and Wine is at 1.0.
As for OOo 3, I would like to see it ready for Intrepid, but I can
understand if it isn't. the beta 1 didn't give me any trouble in Windows
several months ago, which is th

Remember that people use their laptops and take them to public places. I
think the sound Cory attached is more 'mellow' for a logon sound than the
current attention grabber. In short, I like it.

Just like Firefox 3.0 was not final in time for Hardy? Not a troll,
but an honest question regarding the 'not ready' status of upstream
software.

A lot of people seem to misunderstand why Fx 3.0 was included in 8.04
when it wasn't final. The reason was that we had to support it for 3
years, so Fx 2 was not an option. As Intrepid is not LTS, we only need
to keep supporting 3.0 for 18 months, which is fine.
