It hasn't been automatically imported because it takes over the
wx-common binary from wxwidgets2.8, which has Ubuntu-specific
modifications:

wxwidgets2.8 (2.8.12.1-14ubuntu2) trusty; urgency=low

  * disable disable_media_python.patch to add wx.media to python-wxgtk2.8
    (LP: #1224528)

This means that a developer needs to resolve this situation manually,
either by uploading a version of wxwidgets3.0 with the necessary Ubuntu
changes applied, or by determining that all these changes have been
merged and performing a manual sync.

No; new packages that don't have a problem such as the above are
imported automatically.
