No GMail, via web, você tem que habilitar o IMAP no menu de
configurações. Depois é só configurar o Evolution usando as
configurações que o GMail informa

Achei ele bem bacana, e me agradou por lembrar
Linux Mint é a que eu estou mais usando no momento (pelo menos no PC de
casa)
gosto bastante dele pois já vem com repositórios e alguns plugins como Flash
e codecs já instalados
não tive nenhum problema com ele até agora (tanto na versão gnome quanto na
kde)
