Inside is a tiny battery that powers the BIOS memory (or something). My
laptop is awfully old, and the battery has finally gone flat. This means

I have to install a riser card for a graphics card in my pc. When the
graphics card is instlled the ports do not align at the back.
So i was wondering is there anything that i can attach the graphics

I promise, I'm not trolling!
I've been moving users across from Windows to Linux for a while now,
with - on the large - reasonable success. Because I use Gnome, and
don't have much experience of using KDE, I've just always installed
Ubuntu by default and not really given Kubuntu the time of day.

I've just installed Kubuntu Gutsy Tribe 5 to see what all of the fuss
is about. In the past I've only tried installing kubuntu-desktop over
the top of gnome. First impressions are that

I think you are correct in that companies (directors managers etc) are
looking for IT process. But IT departments are run by those people. The
heads of IT/IT Managers/IT Directors/CTOs (who are on 50k+) are responsible

I have become (slightly ambitiously) the volunteer system admin for a
small local charity serving a small number of vulnerable users.
I expect to commission and admin 5 PCs each with edubuntu 7.04 (a few
are dual boot with windows). There will be a modem router and LAN
including a switch.

Regarding building a .deb from the package: who cares if anyone else
will use it? If it makes your life easier, do it anyway! You can
always make it available if anyone else is interested, but the main
reason for building the .deb is to make it easier for you to install
it again and again.
