Is anyone working on this? I think it's clear that it's a packaging bug
and should hopefully be easy to fix. The ubuntu-docs package links to
ghelp:empathy in order to explain about instant messaging, string freeze
is less than 24 hours away so it would be helpful for the Ubuntu

Shouldn't computer-janitor do something more graceful then just exiting
if a package has a postinst error?

Could you try removing the downloaded package file and upgrading again?
In a terminal type sudo rm /var/cache/apt/archives/ubuntu-docs*.deb and
then try to upgrade.
